Elizabeth has a BA (hons) in history from the University of Western Ontario and a MA in history from Birkbeck College, University of London.  Her dissertation was on the contribution to Secularism of Frederick James Gould.  It is only a matter of time before a PhD proposal is forthcoming and she heads back to academia.

Prior to interest in secularist history, Elizabeth dabbled in Early Modern European history, mostly in Thirty Years War and military history.

In what spare time remains from working in the tech industry, Elizabeth also contributes to the Pod Delusion a “podcast about interesting things” from a secular angle and enjoys attending Skeptics in the Pub.  Additionally, you can see her occasionally performing with the British Humanist Association Choir.

Elizabeth also volunteers at the library at Conway Hall, the home of South Place Ethical Society, to prepare for her PhD but also to thankthe librarian profusely from being so helpful during her MA research. She recommends everyone make use of the library for it is a fantastic resource for freethought and secular history.

Elizabeth will talk for hours on history and research obsessively on any topic that is interesting.
